Celtic's second game resulted in a 4-0 victory over a somewhat taken aback Wingham team. Solid offensive play and good passing left Celtic's goalie with little to do, although Wingham missed a few opportunities to score when they did get the ball into Clinton's end.
Celtic's players are certainly well-supported as the Clinton fans in the crowd at Wingham probably outnumbered the home team crowd. Let's hope for the same good results in the next game against Blyth in Clinton.
The game in Wingham on Thursday is at the lower town field. When you come to the first set of stoplights just before you go into Wingham (Tim Horton's is on the corner), turn left towards Lucknow and go up three streets (the first street has a church at it) and turn right. Go over the bridge, and the field is on the left.
Clinton Celtic got off to a bit of a shaky start for its season opening game against Clinton Arsenal. The 4-1 loss, however, was not an indication of how closely the two teams played. The competition was fierce and at times heated as the two Clinton teams vied for bragging rights. Given the strength demonstrated by both teams, this should prove to be another strong season for Clinton Minor Soccer.

Clinton Celtic had its third practice and is preparing for their first game on Thursday against the other Clinton team. The game will be at the field at St. Anne's. Game time is at 7:15, but arrive by 6:45 for warm up time.
