On Wednesday, December 2nd, many of the students from the grade 11 biology classes, along with students from other science classes from grades 10 to 12, traveled to the Ontario Science Centre to see the Body Worlds 2 exhibit and to view the IMAX film "The Human Body". The world famous Body Worlds exhibit features over 200 authentic human specimens including whole-body Plastinates, organs, and translucent body slices. The exhibit also focused on the human heart. This all-new exhibition, reveals through the lenses of anatomy, cardiology, psychology, and culture how the heart nourishes, regulates and sustains life.
Although visitors were not allowed to take photos in the exhibit, a gallery of photos can be viewed here.
It is hoped that the students who participated in this trip have a new found respect and admiration for the amazing machine that is the human body.
